Description

A vegan green pesto, combines the best flavors from Italian cuisine
Prepared with basil, pine nuts and olive oil
Inspired by Italian recipes
With a touch of extra virgin olive oil.

Every region, city and village has its own specialties, but the most famous pesto is a traditional sauce from Liguria. The name, pesto Genovese, is also named after the city where it comes from Genoa. Our Pesto alla Genovese Vegan is based on this but is completely vegan. Bertolli Pesto alla Genovese Vegan is a delicious pesto prepared with basil, pine nuts and olive oil. These flavors come into their own in marinades, dressings, as a spread on bread or in a delicious pasta dish. Pesto comes from the word 'pestare' which means stamping. This refers to the traditional way of making the pesto finely with a mortar, or stamping. Nowadays it can also be made with the food processor, but if you take the time to make it yourself, use a mortar for a more aromatic pesto.
