Bertolli Sugo tradizionale Pecorino is a delicious pasta sauce with Pecorino Romano, Italian tomatoes and garlic, prepared with extra olive oil obtained during the first pressing. As the name slightly suggests, Pecorino Romano comes from the Lazio region. Pecorino is a corruption of the word 'pecora' which means sheep in Italian. This pasta sauce is made on the basis of a delicious 'soffritto' made from extra virgin olive oil and herbs. A soffrito is a mixture of chopped vegetables that are gently cooked in oil. These gently cooked vegetables are the basis of the sauce and give the sauce an intense and full flavor.
