• The ports of the Quevedo family business are made by Cláudia Quevedo. In addition to the 'normal' Ruby and Tawny that this port house makes, a Special Reserve Tawny is also made. This exclusive port is a blend of different vintages with an average age of eight years. For a tawny port, the wine matures in smaller barrels, also called 'pipes'. Because the barrels are smaller, the wine comes into more contact with the wood and loses its color. The end result is orange-brown in color and has tones of nuts, raisins and dried dates. Serve this mature port with old cheeses, desserts with nuts or in combination with tarts with hazelnuts or almonds.
