From only the very best ingredients such as real Arabic gum, licorice root and maple syrup, which provide a wonderful structure and a full, sweet licorice flavor. August 1972. Everyone was looking forward to the annual village festival in Jirnsum again. Three days of festivities such as katsen, bingo and the famous baking competition. My neighbor Ytse provided a sign that was placed on the festival grounds. He could paint, but spelling was not his strong point. Everyone had to laugh heartily when there was a large, ornate sign that read PROUD OF OUR DROP instead of PROUD OF OUR VILLAGE. That's how the organization came up with the playful idea this year to choose the tastiest Oldtimers licorice from our local licorice factory! After three days of tasting and voting, I was allowed to announce the results. And what turned out; there were no less than four winners. All equally popular. That is why they are now available together; Jochums Favorites. So no one has to choose anymore.
