The strong flavors of Mexican cuisine have conquered the world for centuries.
Yet the 'typical Mexican dishes' we know are actually 'Tex-Mex'.
A spicy combination of Mexican cuisine (with its origins in Spain and with the Aztecs) and Texan cuisine.
The basic ingredients of Mexicans - corn, tomatoes, chili peppers and beans - were combined in Texas in the late 19th century with O.A. cheddar, beef and wheat into new dishes such as tortillas, nachos, chili con carne and burritos.
