Beschreibung
- Many consider rhubarb to be a quintessentially German affair. However, it's not widely known that this plant actually originated in the Himalayas and made its way to us via France. Grandma Frieda ("Lütts Tante") also had a special spot for the plant in her vegetable garden: she used to call it a "Starkzehrer" (heavy feeder) while forking well-rotted cow manure onto the soil. Today, rhubarb is once again becoming a trendy plant, especially in liquid form, even among younger people.
- This Schorle (a mix of juice and sparkling water) contains direct rhubarb juice. Because too much sourness isn't quite as enjoyable, a touch of fructose is added. Fructose has a high sweetening power, so it adds comparatively fewer extra calories to the glass. The rhubarb for this direct juice is grown in Kalletal, in the Lippe region.
