Description
Vitakruid Vitamin D3 Vegan 25 mcg / 1000 IU
Vegan through lichen, 100% vegetable
The main raw material for the production of vitamin D is wool fat. The formation takes place by exposing the fat from sheep's wool (lanolin) to UV light. Due to the use of animal wool, we consider vitamin D formed from wool fat - strictly speaking - not vegan.
However, Vitakruid's Vitamin D3 Vegan is formed from lichen and is therefore 100 percent vegetable! Lichen makes vitamin D3 in a similar way to humans, based on UV radiation (sunlight). This preserves the good absorbability of vitamin D3!
Vitamin D3 is the best form
Due to the scarce sun rays in the cold Benelux, insufficient vitamin D values are generally the reality. Nevertheless, the forms ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) can be found in mushrooms and food of animal origin, respectively.
Mushrooms and animals make vitamin D in the same way as humans, under the influence of UV radiation (sunlight). The form you consume from animal products (vitamin D3) is exactly the same vitamin D that our skin makes, and therefore the most biologically available form for our human digestive system.
- Vitamin D promotes a good calcium level in the blood, is good for calcium management and increases calcium absorption in the bones.
- Vitamin D plays a role in bone formation, is good for the skeleton and for maintaining strong bones.
- Vitamin D is good for the cell division process and plays a role in tissue growth and development.
- Vitamin D has a positive influence on the immune system.
- Vitamin D is good for the muscles and strong teeth.
