Description

SNP Folic Acid 400 mcg
Folic acid (vitamin B11) is part of the vitamin B complex.
In Germany, France and the United States of America, folic acid is also called vitamin B9.
B vitamins are water-soluble vitamins.
Folic acid is an extremely important vitamin for the general well-being of the human body and is absolutely crucial when a new life
is in preparation.
By eating a varied diet, everyone can get enough folic acid, except for pregnant women.
It is not possible for them to get the desired amount from food alone.
That is why the Health Council strongly recommends taking extra folic acid as a dietary supplement from 4 weeks before
up to 8 weeks after conception!
- Folic acid supplementation increases the folate status of the mother. A low folate status of the mother is a risk factor for the development of neural
tube defects in the developing fetus.
