Avoid regular or prolonged application of large quantities to extensive areas of skin in elderly patients who are prone to
produce too many thyroid hormones and in patients with kidney problems

Children
Due to the permeable nature of their skin and an increased sensitivity to iodine, the use of povidone iodine in
newborns should be limited to the absolute minimum.

Additional note:
Stains on skin and linen, wool and silk can easily be removed with water.
A slight discoloration of some synthetic fibers disappears after treatment with diluted ammonia.
