Baron von Maydell is a German winery from Baden with a history dating back to 1693. The name comes from the noble baron Peter von Maydell. Baden is the southernmost wine region of Germany and is known for its relatively warm climate. That is also the reason why you will find Spätburgunder and Grauer Burgunder in addition to Riesling here. Grauer Burgunder is the local name for the Pinot Gris grape.
