Description
- Sumac are red berries from the sumac plant. A popular spice in the Middle East. The berries have a fresh, sour taste that is very similar to lemon, but more aromatic. The fresh, lemony taste goes well with many dishes. Try it with (grilled) meat, fish, chicken or in a salad. Add thyme and sesame to sumac and you get za'atar.
